**Update**
Well, our boy Arlowe is officially an orthopedic surgery alumni! On Thursday, August 15th, Arlowe underwent his life changing surgery and he is currently recovering in his loving foster's home with exceptional human (and canine) support. His foster, Angie, reports he is feeling and acting more life himself everyday. We are beyond grateful for the donations that have come through so far and thank you to all who have contributed. We are just a bit over half way to our goal so please, if you can find it in your heart, donate today to support us with Arlowe's medical costs in his journey to find his forever home.
You may recognize Arlowe, a stunning Rhodesian ridgeback mix (originally named Randall) that has been in our program since May of this year. His life recently took an incredible turn about a month ago when he met Stacy, a fellow hiker on the Lander trails. Stacy, who had recently said goodbye to her own beloved Rhodesian ridgeback, was instantly captivated by Arlowe's charm and spirit. The connection was undeniable.
Though Stacy was just visiting, she couldn’t bear the thought of leaving Arlowe behind. She, her husband, and their infant child eagerly welcomed Arlowe into their lives and took him home to Park City, Utah. It was a huge step for Arlowe, moving into a foster-to-adopt situation that promised love, adventure, and a bright future.
However, things took an unexpected turn when Arlowe’s persistent limp, previously diagnosed as a soft tissue injury, was revealed to be something far more serious. A visit to the local vet uncovered that Arlowe suffers from bilateral elbow dysplasia and additional issues in his shoulders, likely due to genetic factors and possible malnutrition or injury as a puppy. The diagnosis was devastating: without immediate orthopedic surgery, Arlowe faces a life of chronic pain, arthritis, and a shortened lifespan.
Despite this news, Stacy remained undeterred. Even with the demands of caring for a 10-month-old baby, she refused to give up on Arlowe. Teaming up with her friend Angie, who has been helping with Arlowe’s care, these two are determined to see him through this challenging time. They know that with the right treatment, Arlowe can live a full, joyous life, and they are committed to making it happen.
This is where we need your help. The surgery Arlowe requires is both urgent and costly, but it’s the only way to ensure he can enjoy the long and happy life he deserves. Lander Pet Connection has joined forces with Stacy and Angie to raise the necessary funds for Arlowe’s surgery. With your generous donation, we can give Arlowe the chance to run, play, and live without pain.
Arlowe has already won the hearts of everyone he meets. Now, with your support, we can give him the gift of a future filled with love, adventure, and the joy that every dog deserves.
Please donate today and help us give Arlowe the life he was meant to live.
